On 12th February 1887, Queens Lawn Tennis Club was inaugurated on the premises known as Craven Lodge. Some Years later, the club moved to Moorlands View and here, two squash courts were built. The Queens Squash Rackets Club came into being on 13th January 1938. The amalgamation of the two clubs took place on 1st April 1958 and came to be known as Queens Sports Club
Much work and fundraising enabled the building to be extended and on 17th May 1962, the present pavilion was opened affording much improved facilities for members. Rapid increase in membership soon necessitated the building of additional courts which were opened on 21st March 1970 and 10th December 1972. The last court to be built provided a much sought after spectator balcony
A landmark in the club's history was the opening in April 1996 of the Courtside Gymnasium. February 1997 saw the construction of the indoor tennis courts with the assistance of a lottery grant and a loan from the Lawn Tennis Association.
